What should I do if the app cannot detect my TV?
If you're experiencing connection issues, follow this comprehensive troubleshooting guide:
Step 1: Verify iOS Device Settings
- Confirm that both your iOS device and TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Disable any "Safe browsing" plugins, VPN applications, or proxy services on your iOS device, as these can prevent TV detection.
- Go to Settings → Wi-Fi, tap the information icon (ⓘ) next to your network, and ensure Private Address is turned OFF.
- Navigate to Settings → Privacy → Local Network and verify that the Screen Mirror app has permission enabled.
Step 2: Check Router Configuration
- If using a dual-band router (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), ensure both your TV and iOS device are connected to the same frequency band.
- Avoid public Wi-Fi networks, as they typically block internal network traffic required for device discovery.
- Log into your router settings and confirm that UPnP is enabled.
- Check if your network has multiple subnets; if so, devices on different subnets cannot communicate directly.
- Reboot your router to refresh the IP address assignment for all devices.
- For a complete reset, unplug your router and other network devices (repeaters, extenders), wait 60 seconds, then plug them back in.
- If your router uses MAC address filtering, add your TV's MAC address to the allowed devices list.
- Disable Access Point Isolation, Wireless Isolation, and IGMP Proxy features on your router.
- Ensure IGMP is enabled on your router to support multicast traffic.
- Turn off any VPN or proxy services configured on your router or connected computers.
Step 3: Review TV Settings
- Verify that your TV is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iOS device.
- Reconnect to your router through the TV's Network menu to obtain a fresh IP address.
- Check for and install any available software updates for your TV.
- Ensure your TV's clock is synchronized with internet time; a significant time difference can cause connection failures.
- Perform a full reboot: unplug the TV power cord, wait 60 seconds, then reconnect.
- Important: After turning on your TV, wait approximately 30-60 seconds before attempting to connect, as the TV needs time to initialize its network services.
If none of these steps resolve your issue, please contact our support team through the app.
