Samsung TV Remote Not Working
Fix your Samsung smart TV remote or app connection in minutes. Follow these troubleshooting steps to get back in control.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
Work through these steps in order to fix most Samsung smart TV remote and connection issues.
1. Enable Device Connection Manager
On your Samsung TV go to Settings → General → External Device Manager → Device Connection Manager and set Access = Allow. This lets remote apps find and control your TV.
2. Allow Local Network on iPhone
Open Settings → Privacy → Local Network on your iPhone and make sure the Remote Control TV app has permission enabled.
3. Use the Same Wi-Fi Network
Connect the TV and iPhone to the same network and frequency band. Disable VPN, and move both devices to the main network if you are on a guest network.
4. Restart TV and Router
Unplug the TV and router for 60 seconds, then power them back on. Wait 30-60 seconds after the TV boots before connecting.
5. Enable HDMI-CEC for Volume
If volume or mute buttons do not respond, enable HDMI-CEC on your Samsung TV (called Anynet+) in Settings → General → External Device Manager.
